Albanian Lek ALL history
The currency for Albania is the Albanian Lek.  It is represented as AL or ALB.  The symbol for ALL can be scripted as L.  The Albanian Lek is subdivided to 100 qindarka, but they are issued any longer.

The currency conversion factor for ALL has 4 significant digits.

Albania used the Turkish lira, which was the Ottoman currency until 1912.
The first Lek was introduced in 1926.  In 1947, the lek was adopted as the main denominations and the currency notes were issued for 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 lekë.

The second lek was revalued in 1965 where 10 old lek = 1 new lek, in a way to regain the exchange rate of 12.5 lek = 1 ruble. This lek suffered from considerable inflation after the end of the communist regime. It is still in circulation though.

A new "lek valuta" was commenced in 1992 for the value of 50 lek. Bank notes of two denominations were issued and they were of 10 and 50 lek valuta.  1 lek valuta notes were not issued even though they were printed; however, the lek valuta did not replace the lek and no further issues are being made in lek valuta.
